My Coffee Journey Kang Kexin

I found that there are many interesting coffee shops on High St in Winchester, and I love coffee. So in this map work, I took High St as the main area and made a map about the coffee shop experience in Winchester.

I would go to each coffee shop and order hand-poured coffee (or American coffee) to control variables. In each coffee shop, I would feel the atmosphere, taste coffee, record my feelings, draw pictures with coffee stains and collect coffee beans.

After that, I would get the pattern of coffee stains, the pattern of my mood at that time, the image of coffee flavor, the image of coffee itself, small bags with different types of coffee beans and receipts.

I used these to design a basic map form. Next to this map, I connected the coffee shops and coffee beans with lines, so that people can feel different coffee flavors at will.

Because coffee stains are a side expression of my current feelings, in order to better reflect the reconstruction of psychogeography, I focused on coffee stains and conducted a Rorschach inkblot test.

In the test, I extracted the keywords of 9 coffee shops and obtained the emotional heat distribution map of each coffee shop based on the proportion of positive (red), neutral (yellow) and negative (blue) words. They can reflect from the side the feeling that each coffee shop brings to people subconsciously.
