Image Description

This article explores the significance of the "stick" in human culture, history, and symbolism.

The author analyzes the role of the stick from multiple perspectives. It examines its symbolic connection to power, authority, discipline, control, desire, and even the phallus, referencing thinkers like Lacan, Butler, and Žižek.

The article has eight chapters. These 8 chapters are not closely related from the name, and are more about the protagonist "Stick" in this article. There is no special progressive relationship. So my book is also divided into 8 parts according to this chapter.

The main layout and style refer to the overall style of the manual, because I don't think this article is very interesting or ups and downs. Moreover, there is no evolutionary relationship or mutual negation between these different "Stick" symbols. These symbols are all parallel. Judging from the text content, it is more like an explanation of "Stick". These features also correspond well to the concept of "instructions", so I took "explanations about "Stick"" as the keyword of my book to extend my design.

The author quoted many philosophers to verify the different symbolic images of "Stick", which is the significance of why this symbolic image exists, so I think these authoritative text quotations should also be important content of my book. The layout here is different from that of the main text. The authors of the quoted texts are typeset next to the text, so that readers can better distinguish which part of the text was proposed by which philosopher and distinguish it from the main text.

I sorted out all the authors cited and processed the images in a style similar to instruction manual illustrations (inspiration for instruction manual illustrations). To highlight the style of the instruction manual, I also numbered the authors.

From the title, it is obvious that the main character of this article is "Stick". Naturally, I can find many different symbolic images of "Stick" in this article. For these different symbolic images, I listed different keywords and displayed them next to these images in the form of explanations.

And in my book, I made special-shaped pages for these symbolic images at the corresponding positions of the article to increase the reader's impression of "Stick". Of course, in order to emphasize "Stick" again, I marked the number of times "Stick" is used in the upper right corner of the text. And the same design is also used in the book cover.

Finally, I combined these to create a poster for my book.
