Reintegrating people with disabilities into society through robots
Remotely operated robots such as OriHime-D and Tele-Barista allow people with physical
disabilities (such as ALS or spinal muscular atrophy patients) to complete tasks such as
greeting guests, ordering, and even making coffee through eye movement or smart device
operation, regaining a sense of value
Redefine the working model
This project breaks through the traditional employment model and provides "remote pilot" jobs
for "bedridden veterans". This not only creates new social roles, but also gives people with
disabilities economic independence and professional dignity
Pay attention to the problem of loneliness
DAWN is more than just a café, it’s an experimental space designed to reduce loneliness. It uses
robots and virtual social scenes to provide new ways for people with limited mobility to connect
with society
Collaborative and customized design process
Tele-Barista’s development process demonstrates the power of collaboration – combining user
feedback, engineering and artistic design to achieve a robotic operating system that is both
precise and user-friendly
From disability design to solutions for future aging society
Founder Kentaro Yoshifuji emphasizes that everyone ages and physical abilities may deteriorate.
