This is an app for connecting smart pillows, called Pillow Nest, to help people use smart pillows better.

The reason why I chose pillows is that pillows are something people come into contact with almost every day, but because people come into contact with them too frequently, few people pay attention to the impact of pillows on their lives. And in 24 hours a day, people come into contact with pillows for about one-third of the time, so it is a product that is used for a long time. So, I think designing pillows to be smart can help improve people's sleep quality.

First, I did a detailed preliminary investigation. I conducted a questionnaire survey, read academic articles, did a PACT analysis, created user portraits, and made an empathy map from the user's perspective. The preliminary investigation showed that a large number of people thought it was difficult to buy a suitable pillow, and in fact, many people actually have many chronic sleep problems, but many people don't know that these sleep problems can be improved by adjusting the pillow. So I think my Pillow Nest can solve these pain points very well.

I hope that users can feel safe and comfortable when using the smart pillow, just like sleeping in a nest, so I named my app Pillow Nest. Pillow Nest has four main functions: pillow adjustment function, self-cleaning function, monitoring function, and alarm function, which can guide users to use the smart pillow in all aspects.

I hope Pillow Nest looks soft and simple, so I use large color blocks and simple thick stroke patterns as visual elements, and design a series of icons for a unified style. And considering that users mostly use the app before or during sleep, I don't design glaring colors, but soft light pink and blue.

I conducted two user tests in the early and late stages of the design process, and the users who took the tests all gave Pillow Nest a lot of effective and constructive suggestions.
