Project 3 - Objects and Narratives

This project is centred around three medical exhibits in the Science Museum with a strong visual and historical sense - the amputation knife, the organ weighing and the female anatomical model. They carry the brutality and reality of the evolution of medicine and evoke images of the body, pain, and discipline. By using ‘black fairy tale’ and ‘cold humour’ as the main narrative style, I repackaged these exhibits into a fictional medical story with allegorical overtones. Through the medium of webpage and foldout, I try to create a multi-layered narrative experience that blends fantasy and reality, allowing the audience to reacquaint themselves with these historical relics in a state of amazement and curiosity. I used web design and brochure design to express the theme.
